Lockey is free, open-source software provided as-is under the MIT License. By using it, you agree to these terms.

By downloading, installing, or using Lockey ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Lockey is a macOS menu bar utility that temporarily suppresses keyboard input to assist with keyboard cleaning. It operates entirely on your local device and requires the macOS Accessibility permission to function.

Lockey requires the macOS Accessibility permission to intercept and suppress keyboard events. By granting this permission, you acknowledge that you understand its purpose and consent to its use solely for keyboard suppression as described. Lockey does not record, log, or transmit any keyboard input.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no warranties regarding:

Some macOS security contexts may limit the App's ability to intercept all key events. This is a known limitation of user-space applications on macOS.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the authors of Lockey shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including but not limited to accidental key presses, data loss, or system disruptions.

8. System Requirements & Compatibility

Lockey requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later. The authors make no guarantee that the App will be compatible with future versions of macOS or that Apple will continue to provide the APIs the App depends on.

9. Open Source Contributions

Contributions to Lockey's source code via GitHub are welcome and governed by the MIT License. By submitting a contribution, you agree that your code may be distributed under the same license.

10. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the jurisdiction where the author is located.
