Lockey does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Ever. This policy exists to make that explicit.
Overview
Lockey is a local macOS menu bar utility. It runs entirely on your device and has no network communication, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no telemetry of any kind.
Information We Collect
We collect nothing. Lockey does not collect:
- Personally identifiable information
- Keystrokes or keyboard input data
- Usage analytics or statistics
- Device identifiers or hardware information
- Crash reports or diagnostic data
- Location data
Keyboard Event Interception
When the keyboard lock is active, Lockey intercepts keyboard events at the macOS system level using the Accessibility API. These events are suppressed and discarded — they are never read, logged, stored, or transmitted anywhere. Lockey does not record what keys you press.
Accessibility Permission
Lockey requires the macOS Accessibility permission (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility) to intercept keyboard events. This permission is used solely to suppress key events during the lock period. No data derived from this permission is ever stored or transmitted.
Third-Party Services
Lockey does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or analytics platforms. No data is shared with third parties because no data is collected.
Local Storage
Lockey may store minimal application preferences locally on your device (e.g., window state). This data never leaves your machine and is not accessible to us.
Children's Privacy
Lockey does not collect any data from users of any age. The app is suitable for general use.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any changes.
